Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Rifraux. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rifraux's AI-powered fraud detection platform, including our website, APIs, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Service Description

Rifraux provides real-time fraud detection and prevention services for African fintechs, including:

• Real-time transaction risk scoring via API
• Machine learning-based fraud pattern detection
• SHAP-based explainable AI for fraud decisions
• Fraud alert dashboard and reporting
• Historical transaction analysis
• API documentation and developer tools

Our Services are designed to complement, not replace, your existing fraud prevention measures. Rifraux provides risk assessments and recommendations, but final transaction decisions remain your responsibility.

Account Registration

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use our Services. By creating an account, you represent that all information provided is accurate and complete.

Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breaches
• You are liable for all activities conducted under your account
• We recommend enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for enhanced security

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Share your API keys with unauthorized third parties
• Use the Services for any illegal or fraudulent purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract our machine learning models
• Overload our systems with excessive API requests beyond agreed limits
• Resell or redistribute our Services without written permission
• Interfere with the security or integrity of our platform

API Usage & Limits

Rate Limits

Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary API suspension. Contact us for higher limits or enterprise plans.

Fair Use Policy

You agree to use the API responsibly and not engage in activities that could degrade service performance for other users. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that violate fair use principles.

Fees & Payment

Fees for the Services, if applicable, are agreed upon in writing between Rifraux and the customer through a separate pilot agreement, service order, or master services agreement.

Unless otherwise stated in a written agreement:

• Fees are invoiced in accordance with agreed payment terms
• Invoices are payable within the period specified in the agreement
• Applicable taxes are the responsibility of the customer
• Fees paid are non-refundable except as expressly stated in writing

Rifraux reserves the right to suspend Services for non-payment in accordance with the applicable agreement.

Data Processing

Your Data

You retain all rights to the transaction data you submit to Rifraux. By using our Services, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing fraud detection services.

Data Usage

• We use your transaction data to generate fraud risk scores
• Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to improve our machine learning models
• We do not sell or share your identifiable data with third parties
• All data processing complies with our Privacy Policy

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, you acknowledge that no system is entirely secure, and you use our Services at your own risk. See our Security Policy for details.

Intellectual Property

Rifraux and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Services, including all software, algorithms, machine learning models, designs, trademarks, and documentation.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our Services
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code or models
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use our trademarks or branding without written permission

Warranties & Disclaimers

Specifically, we do not warrant that:

• The Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
• Our fraud detection will catch 100% of fraudulent transactions
• Risk scores will be perfectly accurate in all cases
• The Services will meet your specific requirements

Limitation of Liability

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Rifraux harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

Termination

By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, you remain responsible for any outstanding fees.

By Rifraux

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

• Violate these Terms or our policies
• Fail to pay outstanding fees
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Pose a security risk to our platform or other users

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the Services will cease immediately. We will retain your data as outlined in our Privacy Policy and as required by law. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiations. If negotiations fail, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our platform. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
